Rawalpindi is a city of Pakistan’s Punjab which is normally known as Pindi. Rawalpindi is located besides the capital of Pakistan (Islamabad). Rawalpindi and Islamabad consider the twin cities due to their joint paths and few similar things. Rawalpindi is the fourth largest city of Pakistan in sense of population although if we will join Islamabad and Rawalpindi then it will become the third largest metropolitan area of Pakistan. Rawalpindi was explored before Mahmud Ghazni. After the region of Mahmud, it was destroyed and faded in history for few years. At the time of Mughal empire, they ruled on it and free this land when Sikh community came to this place.
It was 1848 when British did their best and won this land from Sikh. It was the starting point of British Government on this land. Even if British were ruling on this land but Sikh and Hindu were also there who tried to get this land from Muslims. At the second hand, Muslim’s were ready to get separate country from British and Hindu community. It happened in 1947 when Pakistan got official charge of this land. Rawalpindi has several historical places like the 16th century Rawat Fortoffered military protection to Rawalpindi.
